Who is responsible
This website is run by Remco Lengers, based in the Netherlands. For questions about this privacy statement or requests about your personal data, contact me via LinkedIn or X (Twitter).
What data is processed
- Server logs. The site is hosted by DreamHost. Like any web server, it records technical data such as IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. These logs are used for security and troubleshooting and are kept by the hosting provider for a limited time.
- Comments. If you leave a comment, the name, the text and the technical data that comes with it (such as IP address) are stored. Comments are checked for spam by Akismet, a service from Automattic, which receives the comment data for that purpose.
- Cookies. WordPress may set functional cookies, for example when you leave a comment or log in.
Advertising
I plan to show ads through Google AdSense. Before that happens, a consent banner from a Google-certified consent management platform will be added. Visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland will then be asked for consent before personalised ads or advertising cookies are used. This statement will be updated when ads go live.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access to, correction of or deletion of your personal data, and you can object to its processing. Use the contact options above. If you think your data is not handled correctly, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

This statement may change, for example when ads are introduced. The date at the top shows the latest version.
